There are three most common variants of integration of a broadcast system Digispot II® DJin with a music rotator PowerGold (PG). The main factors influencing the choice of the integration options are the following:

  • What system of audio files storage is used as the basic (open directories for storing files, module ‘Folders’ in the system Digispot II® or Media Database Digispot II®);
  • How commercials, news and other non-musical elements are planned and added to the broadcasting schedule.
  • Where the final broadcasting schedule is composed: in PowerGold or in Digispot II®.

Option 1
In the simplest case, PowerGold is only used to generate the music playlist based on the music database, according to a set of rules and the set of the broadcast grid (shreds). The audio files are stored in a certain physical "store" in open directories, access to which have both PG and DJin. The result of the PG’s work is a text file that describes the elements of the schedule line by line. This file is imported into DJin. The program arranges musical elements in the schedule according to the specified time on the air, then detects and binds audio files from the "storage" to the broadcasting schedule. Before importing the music schedule into DJin, you have to insert a schedule template and import a schedule for commercials.

Option 2
In this case, the functions of control over audio storage are assigned to DJin (sound elements are stored in the Media Database or in the ‘Folders’ module). PowerGold also creates only a music playlist. Docking of PowerGold’s database and the storage system of DJin is carried out by means of end-to-end identification: the same ID is assigned to the elements of PowerGold database in the field ‘Cart Number’ or ‘Track Number’ and to the elements in the ‘Folders’ module in DJin; or the ID of the database DB ID Media Digispot II® is put into the same field in PowerGold. In this case, by the schedule import, DJin looks up a schedule in the Media Database or in ‘Folders’ according to the labels and automatically inserts it into the broadcasting schedule. Creating a schedule is as follows: use a template schedule, to which the commercials schedule is imported, and the music schedule is imported from PowerGold.

Option 3
In this case, PowerGold is set to the import of the commercials’ schedule and to the music schedule programming based on commercials’ schedule. The composition of the schedule is conducted entirely in PowerGold. The result is a complete schedule. The template system in DJin may not be used at all, and the commands to create the blocks and to give them the necessary properties are also conducted by PowerGold. In this case, all three storage options of sound elements can exist: open directories of the file system, the ‘Folders’ module and Media Database. Therefore, the information about an item of the schedule can be passed in a full version with the file name, tags, etc., and in a short version, with only an ID of the phonogram in the databases. It doesn’t play a big role, because the whole work with the broadcasting schedule is carried out in PowerGold.
